CSC is extremely grateful to the EBRD for supporting and hosting the final round of our Tower Hamlets Primary Schools Chess League at their Headquarters in Canary Wharf.

CSC Ambassador Rachel Reeves has often spoken about the important skills she developed by learning chess as a child. She describes how the ability to think ahead, to plan strategically, and to solve complex problems have proved critical throughout her political career.

Since September 2023, CSC has been working on a unique programme with Google DeepMind, a leading artificial intelligence research laboratory, and UCL Academy, a non-selective state secondary school in north London.

The UK’s largest chess event took place on Sunday 16th July in London’s Trafalgar Square. Now in its third year, the annual open-air chess festival saw over 14,000 people attend the free event organised by CSC, to promote and raise awareness for the game we all love.
