Chess in Staffordshire Libraries

CSC volunteers have been busy running chess clubs in several libraries in Staffordshire. Our library clubs are always free to attend, open to everyone, and suitable for players of all standards, from beginners to experts.

On Monday 7th April, we ran a tournament for some of our new players at the City Central Library in Stoke-on-Trent. Thirty players - twenty of them juniors - took part in a 3-round Rapidplay event. All participants received a certificate and the juniors with the highest scores were awarded medals. For most of the players, this was their first ever chess tournament and we hope it won’t be their last!

If you are interested in volunteering for CSC in a library, we’d love to hear from you here. For a list of CSC clubs, please see our library directory.
