Training and Recruitment Days

CSC had an excellent Saturday in Preston yesterday, running a Training and Recruitment Day for a group of new tutors from Lancashire and Liverpool. The course was led by Matt Piper, supported by Richard Walsh, CSC’s Regional Organiser for Lancashire, and Rob Steele, Regional Organiser for Merseyside. The new recruits enjoyed learning about the CSC Curriculum, the methods we use to teach chess in primary schools, ideas for running school chess clubs, resources to support their teaching, and much more. We look forward to hearing about their work in schools once they’ve completed a programme of shadowing.

We’ve got a busy schedule of Training and Recruitment Days in March:

  • Wednesday 19th March - London

  • Friday 21st March - Bristol

  • Saturday 22nd March - Manchester

  • Thursday 27th March - Birmingham

Most of these are now full, but if you’re in the Manchester area, we have a handful of places left for that course. Attending a Training and Recruitment Day is a prerequisite for new CSC tutors. We are actively recruiting new tutors across the country. You can find more details here.
